New Year.

New year, new me? Not exactly; however, there are some things that definitely need to change.

One of the main things I am talking about here was my day job doing customer service for a wireless phone provider. It was not something I think I would ever do to myself again. I have left this job now, and am more than likely going back to doing preschool or private nannying, along with my writing on the side. Although I would love to strictly be doing freelance writing work full time, I cannot do that until I find a regular client who has consistent freelance work for me on an ongoing basis. I’ve yet to come across that, unfortunately.

Now I am going to be researching how to go about actually making private nannying a legitimate business for myself until I can afford to purchase a home where I can run my own preschool program 3 or 4 days out of the week. I have almost always been working for a ‘boss’ and having them deal with the paper work and payment issues. The ‘business’ side of things. I am not looking forward to this part of it, but I think about my preschool days almost constantly, and know that I need to be working with children because that makes me happy. I need to have the power to choose who I work with which is one thing I have learned about myself since leaving the preschool world almost 2 years ago now, which this private nannying will allow me to do. Of course, I still want to be doing my writing part time as well.

This year another thing I need to do is learn how to expend my negative energy which always crops up here and there. One way I will be doing this is with my new Crossbow (affectionately named Daryl Dixon). No, it is NOT for hunting. (I’m a vegetarian for goodness sake. Heck, my target is a big foam block with zombie faces stuck on it.) I will be doing target practice, purely for the fun of it. It was a Christmas Gift from my awesome Other Half who wants me to feel more confidence in myself.

What things are you going to do differently, or try out that you never have before this year? Let me know in the comments section.
