Old is New Again

Today while going through my jewelry box to organize things, I came across the first gift my boyfriend, Jay ever got for me. It’s a beautiful silver and gold watch. I will definitely have to go to the store soon to get some new watch batteries because I want to start wearing it again!

I love re-discovering things. Whether it’s old jewelry, old music, or old memories. The other day I re-discovered, of all things, Lisa Frank stickers. If you are a child of the late 80’s or early 90’s, you know what I am talking about! My mom brought me over an old stash of Lisa Frank stuff she found in her apartment. Thanks mum!

Have you re-discovered anything you’re excited about? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

Time for Change

I know, I know. It’s the 16th of January and my layout is still Christmas trees and falling snowflakes. Okay, maybe the snowflakes are gone now, but I can pretend they are still there. I love the feeling of all things X-massy. It’s hard for me to remove anything related to Christmas decor at the end of the holiday season. I find it depressing.

Because I deal with anxiety and depression on a day to day basis as a part of who I am, I find in myself feeling something beyond my usual low recently, and gotta at least make a little fun of it to help me get by. I’m forcing myself to get rid of this layout and some of my own home decor by tomorrow! 🙂

Anyway, on a brighter note, I had the wonderful privilege of going to see Lady Gaga for her Born This Way Ball Tour both on Friday and Saturday at Roger’s Arena in Vancouver. I have to say it was one of the most exciting, interesting and creative shows I have ever seen, and I have been to plenty of concerts in my life (so far anyway!). Miss Gaga was ever so sweet to the crowd, always speaking to individuals in the audience, and at one point pulling a few fans up on stage and giving them hugs and kisses.

Here’s a few pics:

Days Gone Bye.

I have this problem every new year. I have a love of calendars so I have quite a few left over at the end of each year. I keep them (because I fall in love with the pictures, usually) in different hiding spots – for later use of course. *shifty eyes*

But until now, I had no idea WHAT that use was, exactly.

Now I have some awesome ideas and inspiration to work with! Check out these websites for GREAT ideas on different ways to reuse or recycle/upcycle your OLD calendar pictures:

My fave ideas:
1. Making an altered book/journal
2. Crafting book covers
3. Greeting cards

Many more ideas available at the links above. Enjoy 🙂
